You've probably seen this a thousand times by now, so for the one thousandth and one time ..... New Line has officially announced the release of ROTK EE. Pre-ordering starts October 1.
TORN reports that the street date is December 14. For the life of me, I couldn't find that date on New Line's official page. I'm probably blind.

Oh, how exciting! Thanks for sharing the news. ;D (I hadn't actually seen it yet.) I shall cross my fingers with my pre-order and hope that they get sent out early.

Yet another post about something you all probably know about already!!! That would be the trailer for the Extended Edition of RotK! It is great, I think. I can't wait to see the scene with the Palantir and I am looking forward to seeing what they do with the "great debate" scene and Legolas' totally STUPID comment "A diversion."
I have heard that something added into the EE has made that scene and that line a bit more understandable. Of course I won't know until the movie comes out.
*stares at calender with puppy dog eyes*
Darn it....too many days to go!!

It never fails.
Legolas: A diversion! Pony: Thank you, Captain Obvious!
I think my favorite parts of the EEs, after the extra scenes, are the director commentaries. PJ usually has a good explanation, either structural, thematic, or theatrical, for everything he does, and I would love to hear how that line made the cut.

LOL! Legolas had several blond moments (so to speak) in the theatre version of ROTK, but that one did take the cake, didn't it? Oi! I hope the rumors are true and the EE improves that scene.

Yay, that was pretty funny. Maybe they kept it in because other wise he wouldn't have said any thing in that scene. Well I think his cuteness makes up for his stupidity

The poor elfling! He gets no respect! Tolkien used him as a token elf; PJ used him as eye candy. What's a poor prince to do...? It's a good thing WE love him.

LOL...Looking pretty! I must say, you are completely right there. BUT...you have to admit that they needed a darned awesome looking guy to play Legolas since he would be competing on screen with Viggo a lot of the time and other who he had less onscreen contact with, but who are also highly good looking, such as David Wenham.
I mean, all the actors are wonderful to look at, and seeing as most people think of Elves as "perfect" in looks, they had to go above and beyond the usual guy to play Legolas. I'm so glad it was someone who at the time was a relative unknown. I really can't imagine anyone else playing Legolas. When I think Legolas, I picture Orlando Bloom decked out in Elve attire!!!
*sighs*
Poor me...now I've got Orly on the brain.

What is wrong with having Orli on the brain It is better than having Grima on the brain. Does anyone have a smiley throwing up because that would fit perfect right now.

Oh MUCH prefer Orli on the brain then GRIMA. *gags* I wish there was a barfing smiley now too! Ugh...what a thought. I have to go and look at a not-in-character pic of that actor, I think he looks much better in real life!

Who looks better, Orlando or Grima? I don't think that I ever saw what Grima actually looks like. I don't know if I want to know what he looks like
