Where do you find Oropher info?

Okay Karri...you convinced me and I've been wondering this for a story anyway. Where could you find information about the time of Oropher's reign? Or can you? I was thinking of a few flashbacks to Thranduil's younger days, so I figured knowing SOMETHING about Oropher's days of reign would be imperative.

Is that somewhere in the Sil? Or do I have to invest in a different book for info on Mirkwood under Oropher. (Or for all I know there is little to no information...)

See, I'm clueless. Any help please?
