Okay, just wondering. Where on the Internet is a good archive of information on LotR. Books, not movies. See, I don't have time to read the books again, nor do I have the money to buy the guides or the Sil.
So, I am looking online to find good resources so that I might expand my knowledge base for fics. I have heard that HASA has some sort of information database or something.
Can anyone direct me to good ones? Also, to a good Elvish place. I have found many, but they don't all appear to be Tolkien's Elvish. I have been to Council of Elrond, but I need more variety, I can't just keep using the same quotations over and over again! They get boring and redundant!
Any help would be hot! THANKS

HASA's reference section is outstanding. It is definitely the first place I would recommend. Another good site for the basics is the Encyclopedia of Arda: www.glyphweb.com/arda/And you may also post questions on this site!

Also, you might check you local library and see if they have The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion on book tape. The unabridged versions by the Reading Library are really phenomenal.
Having both read and listened to the above, I have to say that is most definitely the way to read The Silmarillion, but I'd highly recommend reading the other that way as well, even if you have already read with your eyes instead of ears. Not only is being read to a wonderfully relaxing experience, it puts a whole new beautiful spin on the books to hear the songs sung and the names properly pronounced.

Oh, and there is an Elves forum on HASA, which is a good place to ask elf question and get language information: The Grey Havens.

Looks like HASA seems to be an overwhelming vote for a really good information archive. I am going to have to saunter on over there. I joined them and began posting, but I have found that it takes a VERY long time to post chapter stories there with all the html code I have to enter in!!!
But I did get some good feedback from one of the welcome managers, I guess that's what she was called. Course, that was really the ONLY feedback I got. I think on big sites a lot of times you have to become known before anything you write is recognized. It is so easy for new writers to fall by the wayside.
But off topic!! Thanks again for the recommendations, I shall hopefully find time to use them.

I tend to find Karri as a very good source of information, lol. I notice that whenever anyone (including myself) posts a question on the MC list, she always answers it in detail.
