Original thread name was Leap of Faith...took the leap...found people had faith in the stories! Ok...I am going to take a leap of faith here and try to get feedback on a series I would like to write. I have a story called "Hit" on ff.net. It is about Legolas getting wounded during Helm's Deep. NOW...don't run off yet! I have a good reason for it! I think that perhaps there are ways to write stories that might add a little twist to movie scenes...if you read Hit you'd see what I mean. I was thinking to do similar stories for Pelennor Fields, (again a Legolas-centric fic), perhaps an Aragorn fic when he falls off that cliff and his arrival at Helm's Deep, maybe a bit with the battle outside the Black Gates, heck, perhaps even on with Frodo as the one seeing the brunt of the "twist". SO...if you want to know what the heck I am talking about...perhaps find time to saunter on over to ff.net: www.fanfiction.net/~gwennethClick on Hit...find my twist and how it affects the way the movie took place...and let me know if you think I oughta do a little "series" of these type of fics! Thanks *runs and hides hoping no one thinks me bigheaded for shameless fic promotion* ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

* Yells, " Hey what are you running and hiding for that was great!!" I loved that story Gwenn. The way Legolas excepted his pain and went on to fight for the men and elves he calls friends. So strong and brave and not to mention absolutely yummy lol. Bravo. ;D And yes I would love to read the others if you decide to do them. (hint hint)

I actually read that story when it first came out. Sorry for not leving a review, I have a habit of doing (or should I say not doing) that. Anyway, I really really enjoyed that story and I, for one, would like to see more "what could have happened" fics. I hope you write them.

UPDATE UPDATE!!! I have written installment number two of the "What if?" Series! YAY me...I stayed UP this morning instead of going back to sleep! The second story in the series is called "Slipped" and takes place just before, during and just after the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Yes, it is decidedly movieverse! AND AU... It's up on ff.net. www.fanfiction.net/~gwennethPlease let me know what you think. I'm glad that Carol and Joee let me know they liked Hit, it is mostly thanks to them and LegolasLover2003 that I did this new one. Ta Ta

(Gently drop to knees and places forehead to ground whispering softly) " I bow to you oh mighty Queen of all the What If's". That was wonderful !!!! That was my favorite scene in all of the movies and you wrote it with such detail. Bravo!! And the new twist only made it that much better. You Rock Gwenn!! I am so very honored that I may have played even a tiny part in you deciding to do this story but the main honor is in having the pleasure to read it. So all I can say now is I NEED MORE lol. (hint hint) More Legolas' and more What If's !!!!!!!

*Falls to the floor in shock* Carol! That was...just the...best...sweetest...awesome... REVIEW I've gotten in I dunno HOW long! I'm floored...literally! I'm SO glad you liked it because I wrote it really quick, in between bathroom runs cuse I'm sick, and I was afraid it was too much movie, not enough ME. I think I might do the Black Gates next...them maybe backtrack and browse through the movies for scenes I want to do. I LOVE injuring Legolas, so be sure I'll do more of it. But I think I will be doing Gimli, Frodo, Aragorn and maybe even a MerryorPippin injury story too. BUT Legolas and Aragorn are ALWAYS predominant in my stories. ;D AGAIN...thank you SOOO much for the reviews...AND for the review on the MC list too!!! You are so GREAT! *hands Carol gift of her choice (within reason of course I can't work miracles!!) * ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.;D I can't wait to read the others. I'm sure I will enjoy whomever you decide to hurt, or just plain out torture lmao. I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I hope you get better soon. And as for you not being able to work miracles. I have to disagree with that. I just read one lmao. And since you are soo good at it......(hold arms wide open) I'll be taking that present now. Just throw Legolas right in here and we'll call it even lmao. Now that would be a real miracle wouldn't it.

Again, thanks to my reviewers and any and all lurkers who didn't say they read the stories, but did read them! I'm so glad you enjoyed.
I am going to do the battle outside the Black Gates next. It will likely carry on through to the coronation...I have plans for how it will. (Again, all this series is AU and this one will probably be the biggest AU of them.)
I will be incorporating Merry, Pippin and Gandalf in here as well, since they were present in the movie and these are movie-verse.
If anyone is very familiar with the movie scene and would like to read my story before I post it, please email me.

FIC ALERT....FIC ALERT!!!! I have added another story to the What-If? Series called "Crushed and Slashed". Again, it is decidedly Legolas centric, but I promise someday I will get around to writing a Merry/Pippin in Isengard story, perhaps a Boromir story and perhaps a Gimli story too. You can find it at : www.fanfiction.net/~gwenneth OR...if you are on the MC list I posted it there. ENJOY!! ;D ;D ;D

QUick question, mostly to lurkers on this site. Do you think posting links to stories is best, or would you perhaps be more inclined to review them if you were able to read them right here on this message board?
I neglected to realize some people don't like going to ff.net. Does anyone have a preference....LINK or POST on here???
Let me know!
Also, my next what-if is going to be Elrond centric, something for my beta. And Elrond What-if around the time when he shows up at the Rohan encampment to give Aragorn Anduril.
So, hopefully that will be soon!

IMO, the link versus post issue is best decided by the length of the piece. Longer pieces should be linked. What's the definition of "long"? Use your best judgement. (My 2 cents worth. )

Okay, that makes sense...My definition of something that might be "postable" to this board as a message would be the What-If one-shots. I wouldn't put anything longer on here.
What about things of that length, do you agree that they are short enough to post on here, LKK? Be honest, if you think it should be kept to just drabbles that is totally cool!!! And Karri and The King's Butler, if you wanna throw your two cents worth in as well, please do!!!

Don't know if my opinion counts for anything but I generally prefer a post with a link (or a couple of links if your story is posted at more than one place) and a summary of the story. That way, if the summary is interesting, I can go read it, if not, I can easily ignore it. Then again, I suppose I could just as easily ignore a long post. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
