Just a tip from your friendly, neighborhood house renovator-in-training...NEVER try to clean your hands of oil-based polyurethane with WATER. Gunks up, gets REAL sticky and you are worse off than when you began. Use MINERAL SPIRITS or if need be PAINT THINNER. (Neither of which I have at home so my hands are STICKY as heck...) *posted in hopes that friends will not suffer the same annoying fate*

LOL, I'll keep that in mind if in the furture I'm not rich and famous and can't afford to hire a professional, but I plan to be so I don't really think I need to worry about that. Just kidding, I'll simply ask my incredibly hot neighbour if he can help me instead. ;D
But I do have one concern though...aren't you now getting your keyboard all sticky?

No, the keyboard is all right. The very tips of my fingers aren't sticky it seems so I am keeping the rest off my hand off the computer.
But, thanks for the concern! It would be really bad if my keys started to stick too!
I got a lot of the gook off with...low and behold...tonic water. It did help, though I would still recommend mineral spirits...
Hey, there's nothing wrong with becoming rich and having professionals do all the work. Unless you are me and my fiance. See, Eric is a carpenter by profession...so...he IS the professional. He just doesn't do FINISH work...poly, paint, wallpaper, etc. SO...we are learning as we go there.
I've got stain and stucco down, not so good with cleanup techniques though. I ruin so many brushes!
Tata for now...gotta go find some kids sleigh riding so I can take a pic for the paper!

Renovations are going good. We pulled some fake, cheap, yucky wall paneling down in the upstairs hallway and found....BEAUTIFUL original wallpaper. (The house was built in 1904...) Only ONE panel screwed up the paper because some brilliant idiot put glue on it. But we're thinking of doing something to keep some of the wallpaper, somehow.
We also pulled up the hallway floor and revealed the first hardwood floor. Some of the gaps are rather large, think outdoor pool decking, but we are going to sand it a bit and then paint it.
Someday, if I get a digital camera working, I'll post pictures for you guys to see. It's a whole lot of fun, when I'm not in a BAD mood, like I am now. (Doesn't take much to put me in one either...*frowns*.)
But you guys tend to make me feel better!
OH and Morn! WONDERFUL chapter you updated on ff.net. I loved it. My computer won't let me review on ff.net right now, so I'll review here.
I really really really love that chapter, I SO TOTALLY understand how ANNOYING and hard it is to get bandages off scabs. I did the water thing once too. Ugh still.
Anyway, thanks for the update, keep going! Will Legolas forgive his Dad I wonder?

Yes...getting scabby bandages off wounds...let me tell you about that one! LOL During softball this summer I decided that I was going to slide to thrid base on the gravel baseball diamond when the ball decided to head strait for my nose. It tore the skin on my leg from my ankle to my thigh! But...I was safe and it turned out to be a double. So I bandage it up and turns out it oozes all over the stupid bandage while I am sleeping and dries up. "Brilliant me" decides that she is just going to be a "Man" about getting the bandage off and just rip the gosh darn thing off! NOT A GOOD IDEA! Took a big chunk of still healing skin with it! LOL So that's where I got the bandage thing from...lol...experiance....it left this HUGE scar too! LOL not one better idea's that I have had... Will Legolas ever forgive his dad? Well...I don't want to ruin the ending for you! So...no...........I won't tell you! lol...sorry...thanks for the review! *hands back subject to Gwen* Renevations are fun! LOL my Dad and I just got done with one of the bathrooms in our house! It looks nice now!

OUCH MORN!
That sounds like it was PAINFUL!
*looks at the subject she was handed back by Morn*
Oh...ya know...this keeps happening...you know...this waiting thing...everyone keeps handing me back my questions...
*frowns*
What do I do with this?
*smiles, places it between a piece of pepperoni and cheese and....*
THERE WE GO...back inside...
*frowns*
Don't think I'll be asking it again though...I don't wanna know where it would be coming OUT.
*grins sheepishly*
One of those moods....

LOL odd moods...Wow....yeah...today At school I decided that I was going to play the multi-personality person...I ended up standing in the middle of the lunch room on one of the tables giving my opinion on the qualifications for being an evil obsessive stalker. It was very odd....my principal was laughing his butt off so I didn't get in too much trouble...lack of sleep does this to you...lol... ANYWHO apart from refurnishing the bathroom, I also have refinished my bedroom. I love it! Once I get it cleaned up a little then I will post some pics of it! LoL...It has glow in the dark stars! Got to go do my homework now...I have to write a persuasive essay on the Vikings....lol...how do you write a persuasive essay on the Vikings?!

Wow...funny...you actually got on the table!?
Persuasive essay on the vikings? UH...that's the topic? Nothing else? Nothing to focus on? No particular point ABOUT the vikings you are trying to discuss? Just vikings in general???
Sorry...without more information there I couldn't begin to tell you what might work!! I've written plenty of essays in my time...I loved doing it too because...I'm a writer...it's in my nature.
Anyhow...yeh...I'm done. Gonna go clean something. AND yeh...do post those pics someday. I've got to see the glow in the dark stars!
I'll post pics of the house when I get a working digital camera!!!

Yeah...that was the problem...The topic that my teacher gave me wasn't very spacific...so I decided that I would write an essay on why our history text books at our school should have more information on the Vikings...it was really really dumb...but it was the only thing I had to go on....*sigh* oh well...Turned out being three pages long...go figure! LOL I hope it makes sense...I haven't read it over yet and when I wrote it I was watching "The Simpsons" LOL good stuff...gtg Thanks!

Taking a topic related to text books is always good. I remember doing a college essay about how a lot of information on cultural anthropology differed from text book to text book. It was kind of interesting. It differed in a lot of respects because of the approaches different anthropologists took to doing the case studies.
Anyway, that is not interesting to most people. Hope you do good on your essay, if you write them half as good as you write lotr fics you'll do fine!
